NCJDA Strategic Goals
The 2026 Nelson County Job Development Authority Action Plan focuses on strengthening the local economy, enhancing community vitality, developing the workforce, and expanding housing opportunities.
Key goals include increasing awareness and participation in NCJDA and RRRC programs, supporting local businesses and grocery stores, promoting community beautification, developing apprenticeship and career opportunities, assisting with housing rehabilitation, and supporting new housing construction. Through these efforts, NCJDA aims to provide financial and technical assistance while encouraging sustainable economic and community growth throughout Nelson County.

Economy
Strengthen Nelson County’s economy by increasing awareness and participation in NCJDA and RRRC programs, supporting local businesses through programs such as Storefront Improvement and Flex PACE loans, and encouraging business growth through targeted outreach and direct engagement.
Community Vitality
Create stronger and more vibrant communities by leveraging funding opportunities to support important local projects, including grocery stores, and promoting beautification initiatives that build community pride, identity, and engagement.


Workforce
Develop and retain a skilled local workforce by reducing outmigration, supporting apprenticeship opportunities, participating in regional workforce initiatives, and providing additional career-focused training and employment opportunities.
Housing
Expand access to safe, affordable, and quality housing by utilizing rehabilitation funding to improve existing homes and supporting new housing construction initiatives in additional Nelson County communities.
