Nelson County Beautification Initiative Grant Program

The NCJDA Beautification Initiative Grants Program supports projects that enhance the aesthetic and visual appeal of public-facing areas throughout Nelson County. Eligible projects may include exterior improvements, signage, street lighting, public art, landscaping, park improvements, demolition of dilapidated buildings, and other community beautification efforts.

 

Grants provide up to $5,000 per project through a 1:1 matching requirement, with applicants responsible for providing estimates or visuals and meeting all eligibility requirements. Grant awards are determined by a majority vote of the Nelson County JDA, and funds are reimbursed after project completion and submission of applicable receipts. Projects must generally be completed within one year of approval, and communities may receive funding once every two years, with a maximum lifetime award of $25,000.
